Description

I did this character as a project for school. started out just playing with sub surface scattering and i liked the result so i continued with it. the idea behind this guy was an old voodoo priest that's been in the woods for far too long and has gone a little loony. made with MAX 8 and Photoshop CS2

Looking at the sketches you've posted before this "final" 3D version, I must say I'm impressed. You're really managed to capture the same, well, loony essence in this model. Love the small details, particularly the hair on his back/shoulders and the barely visible veins. People tend to forget these small things, but it's really what turns it from being only "good" to being "great".

Awesome lighting as well. Great job overall!
